Junior cook

Key Responsibilities:

•Follow recipes and Chef instructions accurately to prepare all assigned food items

•Maintain high levels of personal hygiene, appearance, and Health & Safety standards in the kitchen

•Prepare the mise-en-place for the assigned section and report any ingredient shortages to superiors

•Assist or substitute other cooks during rush periods or in emergencies

•Wash, cut, and prepare vegetables and other food items for cooking

•Measure ingredients accurately according to recipe requirements

•Prepare hors d'oeuvres, salads, soups, cold dishes, and other food items as trained

•Pre-cook items to prepare them for later use while maintaining food quality standards

•Clean and maintain food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and kitchen equipment

•Organize and tidy refrigerated and dry storage areas

•Collaborate effectively with colleagues and follow the guidance of superiors

•Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of the kitchen's quality systems

•Implement GDPR requirements to protect personal data of guests and staff

•Follow all procedures for reporting accidents or incidents in the kitchen

Skills & Qualifications:

•Diploma in Food Production from a Hotel School or equivalent experience in a similar position

•Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements

•Ability to work effectively in a team and under supervision

•Attention to detail and willingness to learn

•Flexibility to assist across different kitchen sections as needed
