Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

cyprusjobs.eu is a Cyprus jobs platform. This notice explains how the site processes personal data when you browse vacancies, apply for a role, create an account, subscribe to updates, or publish a vacancy.

Who is responsible

Data controller: Maloitsik Giouri, operator of cyprusjobs.eu, Priamou 45, Paphos, Cyprus, P.C. 8049. You can contact the privacy team at privacy@cyprusjobs.eu.

What we collect

  • Account details: name, email, role, preferred site language, the time your email was confirmed and, if you set one, a password hash. Signing in by email code stores only a protected (hashed) form of the code for 15 minutes.
  • Applications: name, email, optional phone number, cover message and the vacancy selected.
  • Employer details: company name, website, logo, description, city, the contact email and the optional phone or WhatsApp number supplied by the employer. The phone number is used only by us to clarify a vacancy and is not shown on the site.
  • How a vacancy reached us: the link source (for example an email from us, Facebook or Telegram), kept with the vacancy.
  • Anonymous daily counts of how many times the posting page was opened, started and sent, per link source. These counts contain no identifier of any person or device.
  • Technical data needed for security, such as IP address and session information.

Do not send passport numbers, identity documents, health information, financial details or other sensitive personal data through the site.

Why we use data

We use data to operate the job board, deliver an application to the relevant employer, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, maintain security, understand aggregate service usage and send necessary service emails. These include confirmation that an application was received and operational notices to employers about their vacancies or applications. Processing an application is necessary to take steps requested by the candidate; security, operation and anonymous aggregate page-view measurement rely on legitimate interests. Marketing updates are sent only where you choose to subscribe and can be stopped at any time.

Contacting businesses about their vacancies

We may write once to a business about a specific vacancy that the business published itself (for example on its website, on Facebook or on a classifieds site), using the hiring address that business published, to offer to publish that vacancy on cyprusjobs.eu free of charge. For this we keep the business name, that address, the vacancy text and where it was published, and whether the link was opened or used. The source of these details is the business's own public vacancy. We rely on legitimate interests for this processing. Every such email says how to decline; if you decline, we keep only what is needed to make sure we do not write to that address again.

When we review a vacancy, we may look at the employer's own website to find the employer's logo. A logo found this way is used only after a person checks it.

Telegram

Our Telegram group is administered with a bot. Messages posted in the group are read to answer questions about vacancies and to remove spam or posts that ask candidates for money or personal documents. We record only that an action was taken (for example a reply or a removal), not the message text.

Who receives it

An application is shared with the employer named on that vacancy. Service providers such as hosting, database, email and error-monitoring providers process data only to provide their services under contractual safeguards. We do not sell candidate data.

Retention

We keep application and account data only as long as needed for the stated purpose. Our target is to review and delete inactive application data within 12 months after a vacancy closes, unless a longer period is needed for a legal claim or the candidate asks us to keep it. Newsletter data is kept until unsubscribe or deletion. Unused sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes. Outreach records are kept for up to 12 months; an address that asked not to be contacted is kept on a do-not-contact list for as long as we contact businesses. Vacancies posted by employers are closed automatically if the employer does not confirm they are still hiring about a month after posting.

Your rights

Subject to legal limits, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing. You may withdraw marketing consent at any time. You may complain to the Cyprus supervisory authority, the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.
